November update roundup: the best new features in Microsoft Teams

New features have been added to Microsoft Teams to make everyday communication and collaboration a breeze. Enhancements have been made to core functions like meetings, calling, sharing media during calls, as well as adding new certified devices, and more. Here is a roundup of some of the best new features in Microsoft Teams.  

MEETINGS 

The ability to virtually host meetings has kept the world moving—no wonder Microsoft Teams has jumped to 250 million monthly active users. Now, real-time captioning is available during video meetings to keep everyone engaged and informed. Learn more about Microsoft’s accessibility tools.  

Video meetings now allow for intelligent capture of camera content, with live content enhancement. Keep sharing data visualizations, images, presentations, and more for productive and dynamic meeting experiences.

Calling 

System administrators can configure custom hold music and audio files so callers have a personalized, true-to-your-business experience, even when on hold. Incoming call routing is now enhanced so they can now be sent to members of your organization, placed through a call queue, or receive an automated announcement.  

Devices  

Administrators also have new and improved device management abilities, allowing you to monitor and remotely provision account sign outs from the Teams admin center.  

Newly certified devices have been introduced for audio and video use with Microsoft Teams. The AudioCodes C455HD IP Phone is fully-featured and fitted with HD sound quality and a color touchscreen as well. Two Yealink Rooms cameras have also been certified, allowing participants in medium to large rooms stay connected with 4k camera quality, real-time detection, optimized audio, and more. Plus, you can cut down on costs with device bundles. 

Chat and collaboration

Teams users have the ability to collaboratively create and edit messages in real-time with Loop components, similar to inline editing a Word document with another user present in the document.
