If your organization is still using one or more on-premises Microsoft ERP or CRM solutions, there's never been a better time to begin planning your move to the cloud.
To help existing customers make the shift, Microsoft has introduced the Bridge to the Cloud 3 (BTC3) promotion. This limited-time, non-cancellable offer provides significant savings on eligible Dynamics 365 subscriptions, so it’s easier and more affordable for organizations to transition from on-premises applications to Microsoft's cloud platform.
If you’ve been using:
BTC3 can help reduce licensing costs while giving your organization time to complete a successful upgrade or migration.
Beginning January 1, 2026, Microsoft launched the Bridge to the Cloud 3 (BTC3) promotion, the latest version of its upgrade or migration incentive program, to encourage clients to migrate from their older platforms to newer versions.
Qualifying organizations receive a 30% discount on eligible three-year Dynamics 365 subscriptions, helping lower the cost of moving from on-premise business applications to their cloud counterparts.
Promotion details
The promotion is designed to make cloud migration more accessible while giving organizations the flexibility to migrate on a timeline that works best for them.
The Bridge to the Cloud 2 (BTC2) promotion ended on December 31, 2025, and has been replaced by Bridge to the Cloud 3.
If you didn't enroll during the BTC2 offering period, that promotion is no longer available. Organizations looking to take advantage of Microsoft's migration incentives must now enroll through the BTC3 program before that enrollment window closes on December 31, 2027.
It doesn’t stop at the 30% licensing discount: BTC3 offers several additional advantages for organizations planning their journey to the cloud.
Moving to a new ERP or CRM system is a significant investment, and it can involve ongoing expenses. The 30% discount helps offset licensing expenses, which means you can dedicate more of your budget toward implementation, training, integrations, or process improvements.
Microsoft knows cloud migration doesn’t happen overnight. That’s why their BTC3 promotion allows organizations to continue operating their current on-premises solutions while also implementing and testing Dynamics 365 online.
This means your team can migrate data, configure processes, train users, and validate business workflows between the on-premises and cloud solutions in a phased approach before fully transitioning.
A few things to keep in mind:
Dynamics 365 offers continuous updates, built-in security, AI-powered capabilities, improved reporting, and seamless integration with other Microsoft products like Microsoft 365, Power BI, Teams, and Power Platform.
Rather than continuing to invest in aging software nearing the end of its lifecycle, BTC3 provides an affordable, incentivized path toward modern, cloud-based business platforms like Dynamics 365 Business Central and CRM.
Many organizations delay migration because they're waiting for the perfect time. We’ll tell you right now: there’s never going to be a perfect time to migrate.
BTC3 provides a multi-year grace period during which businesses can carefully plan their implementation, rather than rushing through a complex migration project.
Every on-premises Microsoft Dynamics application has either already reached the end of its support lifecycle, or is about to. Once support ends, Microsoft no longer provides security updates or bug fixes. This means your systems and the data they store are more vulnerable to security threats and compliance risks.
The table below shows the end-of-mainstream and end-of-extended support dates for major on-premises Dynamics applications.
Red indicates upcoming end-of-support dates to be aware of.
Of all Microsoft’s on-premises solutions, Dynamics GP has the longest remaining support lifecycle. For good reason: GP may be the most complex Dynamics application to transition away from. Many organizations have relied on GP since the 1990s to manage critical business functions around finance, inventory, and human resources. That’s decades of customizations, historical data, and established processes to move from one system to another.
But you don't have to do it alone. If you're planning your move from Dynamics GP to Business Central, we've created resources to help you understand your options, prepare for migration, and make the transition with confidence.
Unfortunately, not all organizations are eligible for the BTC3 promotion. To qualify for participation in the promotion, you must:
BTC3 is only available through participating Microsoft partners. Wondering if you qualify, or ready to sign on the dotted line? Syvantis can help you determine your eligibility and then guide you through enrollment and beyond.
Working together, we will:
Syvantis can also help you estimate licensing costs, create a realistic transition timeline, identify opportunities to improve business processes, and make sure you're getting the most value out of the BTC3 promotion.
Many organizations postpone migration or new implementation because their existing systems still function. However, waiting too long can create unnecessary risk as the end of support looms for many of these applications.
The Bridge to the Cloud 3 promotion provides a valuable opportunity to reduce licensing costs while giving your organization the breathing room needed to execute an intentional, strategic migration. And the sooner you begin planning, the more time you'll have to bring your business into the future on your own terms.
If you've been considering a move from Dynamics GP, NAV, AX, SL, CE, or CRM to Dynamics 365 apps like Business Central or CRM, now is the time to evaluate your options.
