Janelle Riley

CEO & CPA

Janelle Riley is co-founder and CEO of Syvantis Technologies. Janelle spent the first 13 years of her career in public accounting as a tax consultant and CPA working for KPMG and Ernst & Young.

In 2000, Janelle decided to leverage her financial expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to purchase a small technical services company with her partners. Since then, Syvantis has grown to sell, service, and support clients throughout the US, Canada, and Europe and is an industry leader in complex integrations and implementations of  Microsoft cloud solutions, including Business Central, D365 Sales, and Power Platform.

Janelle is a frequent speaker at Microsoft conferences and events, where she shares her passion for helping businesses grow and add value. She is an active member of her local community, previously serving as Chair of the Brainerd Lakes Area Economic Development Commission and the Brainerd Lakes Community Foundation Board. Janelle is also co-owner of On the Wing Investments, a real estate investment company that operates Fairview Conservancy, an award-winning conservation design demonstration site in Baxter, Minnesota.

Janelle holds a B.A. in Mathematics and a Master’s in Professional Accounting with majors in Financial Statement Analysis and Taxation from the University of Texas at Austin. She has three grown children and lives in the beautiful resort country of northern Minnesota with her husband and business partner, Ken.

Ken Riley

Chief Operating Officer

Ken Riley is co-owner and COO at Syvantis, responsible for all technical operations and keeping day-to-day business running smoothly. Over the years, Ken has attained numerous technical certifications, including Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Associate, and HP Master Accredited Systems Engineer. Ken specializes in system administration and operations, network system design and implementation, data center operations, database management, and project management.

With over 35 years of experience in the technology industry, Ken has worked in system administration and operations, network system design and implementation, data center operations, database management, project management, and multiple Azure services and applications.  Ken also consults with clients on the technical aspects of Microsoft’s mid-market ERP systems. Ken is also co-owner of On the Wing Investments, a real estate investment company that operates Fairview Conservancy, an award-winning conservation design demonstration site in Baxter, Minnesota — where Syvantis is headquartered.

Prior to his work with Syvantis, Ken managed the design, testing, and implementation of multi-platform, nationwide infrastructure rollouts. He began his career as a computer and communications officer at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. In 1992 Ken moved to Minneapolis, where he worked with Andersen Consulting as Manager of the Network and Systems Management Group and, later, as a technical project manager for Andersen client projects. Ken started a consulting company (Syndesis Technologies) in 1995, periodically and independently consulting for five years. Ken then worked as a Principal Engineer for Comdisco’s Network Services Division. At Comdisco, Ken provided engineering and development support for wide area network management architecture and related web-based reporting tools. Nowadays, he spends his time ensuring our clients’ database security and integrations are running smoothly.

Ken holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.

Todd Froemming

VP of Corporate Communications

Todd Froemming is a co-owner of Syvantis and Vice President of Corporate Communications. In his 23 years with the company, he has held various positions, including marketing manager, technical consultant, project manager, and sales consultant. Todd is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist with special expertise in Microsoft Dynamics GP and Business Central. Previously, Todd also managed Syvantis’ retail operations at Computer One Plus for over 12 years. He has extensive retail systems, warehousing, manufacturing, and inventory control systems experience.

Todd serves on the Board of Directors for Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union. He has served on several state and local committees and task forces focusing on access to and applications of technology for people with disabilities. Outside his work at Syvantis, Todd has also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at The College of St. Scholastica, Brainerd Campus, and taught undergraduate and graduate communications courses for their Accelerated Degree Program. He is also co-owner of On the Wing Investments, a real estate investment company that operates Fairview Conservancy, an award-winning conservation design demonstration site in Baxter, Minnesota.

Prior to joining Syvantis in April 2000, Todd worked in the governmental and non-profit sectors and has been involved in all aspects of management—including organizational start-up, fund-raising, fiscal and grants management, policy development, and human resources. While employed by the State of Indiana, he was responsible for developing and implementing the separation of fiscal activities from a large state department to an independent state agency.

Todd holds a Master’s of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin and undergraduate degrees in Business and Mass Communications from North Dakota State University.
