Several new features have released, which you can review and track via the Microsoft’s Release Planner, which allows you to effectively plan for new features that will be added to the stack of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform applications.

Note that these are features that were announced with 2023 Release Wave 2. Some features have already been made generally available since their release, but some other features will be made available for public preview in March 2024.

We’ve already published a blog featuring the 2021 Release Wave 2 key updates for all Dynamics 365 applications, and now it’s time to shift attention to Dynamics 365 Business Central, which has a full list of enhancements to dive into. Microsoft boasts better built-in tours, integrations with Teams, and a host of other new capabilities and features that will roll out to Business Central in the second wave of 2021. Here is a list of the highlights Release Wave 2 has to offer within Business Central.

Plans were recently published for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 2021 Release Wave 2, slated for release this fall. At the Directions North America conference this past week, Microsoft announced a new Publisher program that is designed to overhaul the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) strategy for Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Directions conference is an event for Dynamics Partners to come together and collaborate to better service the small- and mid-sized business market.

Today, Microsoft held their Business Applications Launch event for Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform 2021 release wave 1. During this event Microsoft walked through a few of many new capabilities coming to Dynamics 365 apps like Sales, Marketing, Business Central, and more over the course of April through October 2021. Here are the biggest announcements.

Microsoft just released their plans for updates to all Dynamics 365 applications coming from April 2021 to September 2021 as part of 2021 Release Wave 1. Most of these features will be available for public preview in March with general availability in April. While delivery timelines may change, we now have a good idea of the major updates to Dynamics 365 Business Central that will be coming throughout the middle-part of the year.

Here are some of the biggest changes coming to the application that Business Central users and admins should be aware of.

Microsoft has recently released the preview of the updates coming with the Dynamics 365 2021 Release Wave 1 this spring. There are a variety of features coming to the Dynamics 365 ecosystem with general availability for many beginning in April and continuing to roll out through September. Early access for new features becomes available on February 1st. We have picked out some of the highlights for Dynamics 365 applications that are included in the release.

Recently, as part of Dynamics 365 Business Central’s 2020 Release Wave 2, Microsoft introduced the company hub to Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Company Hub is designed to help users that work within multiple company environments in Business Central by giving them a central location from which they can easily access data across the different environments of each company or region.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central provides solutions for a wide variety of business needs. It is designed particularly with small and midsized businesses in mind to help them manage and adapt their processes. Business Central is receiving a variety of updates as part of Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 release wave 2 plan for its wide range of business.

There are improvements for general app performance, administration tools, handling of growing consumer bases, file storage, business expansion, and an increased integration with Microsoft Teams. Also, included in these updates are many user-requested features.

Twice each year, Microsoft gathers all projects under the umbrella of the Dynamics 365 label and hashes out a roadmap for every moving piece of the suite. The result is a huge document covering all Dynamics apps including Marketing, Sales, Finance and Operations, Human Resources, Commerce, Fraud Protection, Business Central, and Customer Voice, and a number of smaller subdivisions under each of these apps.

On October 1st, Microsoft released the first patch of their Wave 2 2019 Business Central updates. Business Central, the newest cloud-based ERP accounting solution offered by Microsoft, is designed to provide easy to use, high end accounting tools to small and mid-size businesses. This update features a significant amount of feature improvements and advances in migration as Microsoft prepares to align Business Central on-premises with the online version.

An important consideration to make is Microsoft’s development strategy. Microsoft has reallocated its development resources away from Dynamics GP and Dynamics SL to Business Central. This means that although Microsoft continues to support GP and SL, the majority of new development is happening in Business Central.
