A Guide to Pricing and What Comes with the Dynamics 365 Sales Licenses

If you’re considering adding a sales-oriented CRM to your tech stack, you’re likely shopping around to find the system and subscription level that suits your business needs. Even within Dynamics 365 Sales, there are lots of different features and tiers that may require some digging through details to find your best fit.

Do you need Dynamics 365 Sales Professional? Or maybe Sales Premium? Would you benefit from the $135/user/month tier, or are your needs met by the $95/user/month plan? Is Sales Professional the tier that comes with Sales Accelerator, or is that Sales Premium?

When working with any sort of service offering, be it your CRM system, your TV streaming service, or even your internet, oftentimes you’ll find several different tiers and packages with only brief synopses of their contents. Most of the time, there’s an information overload, with the service provider providing you with almost too much information before you even know what you need. With so much being offered, not everything will be needed or apply to everyone who signs up. To account for varying business needs, Microsoft offers a few different licensing options.

There are three main licensing options for Dynamics 365 Sales available: Professional, Enterprise, and Premium.

Sales Professional

Sales Professional is your baseline license option at $65 per user per month. This provides you with the core components for handling your day-to-day sales operations. These include:

  • Managing leads and opportunities

  • Quotes, orders, and invoicing

  • Product management, price lists, and bundles

  • Basic marketing lists and campaigns

  • Integrations with Microsoft 365 products

  • Reporting and analytics through a built-in dashboard with customization available through an additional Power BI license

  • Customization of included apps

  • Automation through Power Automate

Especially for a lot of smaller businesses, this option provides a huge number of features at an entry-level price point when considering the full scope of services provided.

Sales Enterprise

Sales Enterprise is the next step up. It includes all of what is included with Sales Professional, plus additional new features that help to improve productivity and enhance the processes of sales teams at a price of $95 per user per month. Among these features are:

  • Forecasting for future sales

  • Email engagement and capturing

  • Playbooks for sales processes

  • Management for competitors, goals, and territories

  • Lead and Opportunity summaries through AI with Sales Copilot

  • Sales Case management

  • Full customizability including the creation of entirely custom applications

    • Connect with us as your Microsoft Partner to learn more!

  • Contextual insights for predictive lead scoring, sales pipeline intelligence

  • Access to parts of Sales Accelerator for improved sales process sequencing

  • Sales Copilot to provide AI-driven assistance in areas like:

  • Real-time call insights in Microsoft Teams

  • Email summaries in Outlook

  • Meeting recordings and transcriptions

  • Email content generation

  • Meeting preparation

The improved process management options within Sales Enterprise provide a big boost to the system’s value. The value of customization of applications and full custom apps within CRM may be initially underestimated, but these customizations can become very in-depth to cover even the most complex sales processes or requirements.

Sales Premium

Lastly, with Sales Premium, we are provided with all previous benefits, but add on a variety of customizable intelligence and analytics for that final polishing touch. At $135 per user per month, we get to see things like:

  • Full access to contextual insights

    • Predictive forecasting

    • Customer relationship analysis

    • Analysis of notes

    • Connection insights for contacts

  • Full access to the Sales Accelerator toolset

  • Improved conversation intelligence such as call transcription, keyword and sentiment analysis, and seller behavior analysis

Sales Premium is greater for teams with large amounts of customers and data that need that extra bit of help to stay on top of everything.  Being able to maintain that same high level of knowledge about each prospect whether you have 5 or 500 is crucial to standing out and landing the sale.

With any of these three licenses assigned to a user, additional licenses for qualifying Dynamics 365 CRM apps such as Customer Service or Field Service may be added to those users for $20 per user per month.
